As I get older, I treat my archive photographs with greater care, both in their physical state and in respect of what they mean to me as personal memories. Having been lucky enough to travel to many corners of the world my memories of places are varied. Today the World still fascinates me. Welcome to Walking Europe, which reflects the success of Walking Britain by providing a website dedicated to walking in Europe and beyond. It is some years since this website was first established and subsequently the coverage has slowly been widened to reach the current content. After giving Walking Britain a facelift, Walking Europe has now been given similar treatment and I hope you like the enhanced layout.
This web site offers my personal view of railways across the globe. Content is drawn from a mixture of current and archive material that reflects my experiences of trains, locomotives and rail travel. I hope the site is also of interest to those people who are less passionate about railways and that the information contained in these pages is of value to them in their travels. Looking ahead a return visit to Romania, another trip to Italy, Denmark, Sweden and Finland are already in my diary.
